Sternen Physical Therapy
Craniosacral therapy can be used to treat a wide variety of pain conditions, particularly headaches and musculoskeletal pain. It can be useful in treating neurological and circulatory issues, digestive issues, as well as problems with other internal organs. Any condition may respond positively to CST if the internal tension in the body can be reduced.

Life is about compensation. We all have tension and internal conflicts due to various traumas that we have experienced, including birth trauma, childhood injuries, automobile accidents, surgery, and even psychological trauma. So long as we can compensate around those internal tension patterns, you may not notice symptoms. It is only when the tension overwhelms the body’s ability to compensate, that these symptoms flare up. Symptoms show up at the weak link—not necessarily where the tension is. CST directly addresses those internal restriction patterns. Thus, CST is potentially beneficial for just about any condition. Reducing internal tension and conflict allows the body to function better.
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on healing modality that focuses on the wave-like rhythmic pulse that goes through the entire body. The practitioner makes light, gentle finger pressure at selected points around the head, torso, knees, and feet. At times your practitioner may also support your limbs and spine while helping your body release accumulated tension. Some people say they feel deeply relaxed, while others describe feeling unwinding sensations as the body releases tension. You may feel a decrease in pain or an increase in function immediately after the session, or the effects may develop gradually over the next few days. This approach incorporates the mind, body and spirit into healing, leaving you with a feeling of "being more at peace with oneself."
Gentle hand pressure is used to release restrictions of the cranial bones, skull, and sacrum, along with related connective tissues. The treatment is directed at the central nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord, which has subtle, rhythmic pulsations that are vital to health. Tension in the tissues and distortions of the natural rhythm is detected and modified by a skilled practitioner. Movement of the bones and associated soft tissues stimulate the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, which bathes all the surfaces of the brain and spinal cord.
